Haryana Governor, Satyadeo Narain Arya, hoisted the National Flag at a state level function organized at Parade Ground, Panchkula, on the occasion of the 70th Republic Day.
The Governor inspected the parade and extended best wishes to people on the occasion of Republic Day. On the occasion, Arya also paid homage to martyrs and freedom fighters at War Memorial in Panchkula and said that we have got freedom, due to their long struggle and great sacrifices. As a result, today we are breathing freely in the country which is world’s largest democracy. He said that Post independence, setting up of governance system was a big challenge. Baba Saheb, Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar accepted this challenge and became the architect of the Constitution of India.
He said that it is the need of the hour that the whole country should unite for nation-building. He said that Haryana is leading in many areas in the country which is the result of hard work and dedication of all people of the state. Durga Rapid Action Force has been formed for the security of school and college girls and other women. The police department has created a “Citizen Portal” where any person can register his or her complaint. He said that to increase the income of farmers of the state, more than 47 lakh Soil Health Cards have been issued. Haryana Farmers’ Welfare Authority has been constituted to resolve the problems of farmers. The compensation amount given to farmers for the loss of damage of crops has been increased to Rs 12,000 per acre. Water has reached till all tail-ends to meet irrigation requirement. In order to strengthen and make more transparent the Panchayati Raj institutions, literate panchayats have been elected and in this, Haryana is the first state in the country.
Arya said that Faridabad, Karnal and Gurugram are being made “smart cities” in the state.
Many significant efforts are being made in building new Haryana by linking the complete administrative system with new technology. With the use of technology, there would be transparency and benefits which would reach to the last person standing in the queue. Corruption has been curbed by initiating online services in the state and the people are getting prompt services. He said that by furthering the vision of Digital India, 485 services of 37 departments in the state have been made online. More and more youth have been linked with Apprentice Programme, and resultantly, the state has been awarded “Champion of Change” Best State Award.
He said that Haryana has implemented its Start-up policy. Haryana is at the third place in Ease of Doing Business and at first place in North India. The Governor also announced Rs five lakh for grand presentation of various performances.
On the occasion, Haryana Police (men and women), Home Guard, (senior and junior) girls and boys of NCC, Girls and scouts and others school presented March Past. Other presentation included PT show, dog show organised by Madhuban Police, colourful cultural performances and attractive exhibition. Those present included Lady Governor, Saraswati Devi, MP, Ambala, Rattan Lal Kataria, MLA, Kalka, Latika Sharma, Haryana Chief Secretary, D S Dhesi, Principal Secretary, Finance, Keshni Anand Arora, Haryana Police Director General, B S Sandhu and other senior officers.
