While speaking on the occasion, Dharam Pal, Adviser to the Administrator appreciated the efforts of the Commission of reaching the most needed area with the Digital libraries to meet the need of Digital India.
The setting up of this Digital Library in Government schools of Chandigarh is part of ‘Digital India’ – a dream project of our Hon’ble Prime Minister. Opening up of a Digital Library in a remote area such as Daddu Majra Colony is nothing less than a blessing for students. This will enable the students to have access to number of books through internet. It will open up a world of knowledge for students and will also help in inculcating the habit of reading among them.
To enable this situation, Child Right library Corner was also set up by the commission, which included five computers with latest technology and a Projector with screen.
